Love Converges on “Micro blog” Commonweal Warmth Spreads by “1+1”

On March 18th, 2012, 15 disadvantaged university student representatives from Shaanxi, Anhui, Henan, Beijing and Zhejiang came to Zhengzhou together with social commonweal representatives to take part in ZNA “Hand in Hand” Project---“Love Converges in Zhengzhou, Warmth Spreads by ‘1+1’” Seminar. The leaders of ZNA gave grant-in-aid of RMB 5000 to every disadvantaged university student from different areas.

Different from traditional donation activities, the assisted disadvantaged university students were recommended by the commonweal volunteers via Micro blog. 40 disadvantaged university students from different areas including the ones having come to Zhengzhou accepted the donation for totaling up to RMB 200 thousand from ZNA and Zhengzhou Charity Federation as a result of relay forward of the netizens on Micro blog. In August, 2011, ZNA and Zhengzhou Charity Federation jointly initiated the Micro blog activity “Hand in Hand” Project---“Love 1+1” so that the netizens can raise the money for these disadvantaged students by forwarding messages or comments and the ZNA “Hand in Hand” Project on Micro blog commonweal would donate RMB 1 for per forwarding or comment. There were nearly 200 thousand forwarding messages and comments during one-month activity.

As an effective platform motivating more people to focus on, take part in and supervise commonweal activities, Micro blog is praised among non-governmental commonweal organizations and social commonweal volunteers as an enterprise, through official commonweal Micro blog ZNA collects assistance objectives and offers assistance which is a successful try of micro-commonweal. Just as Zhang Chaocen and Zhang Xiaofeng, the commonweal volunteers providing information of the assisted students said on the talkfest, “The behaviors of enterprise in promotion and practices of commonweal by Micro blog is a push for everyday commonweal. We hope more and more enterprises and individuals can work together to create a well commonweal atmosphere in the society”.

According to sources, since the startup in May, 2010, “Hand in Hand” Project sponsored jointly by ZNA and Zhengzhou Charity Federation has drawn wide attention in the society by the commitment that the donation would be RMB 3 million at least to Zhengzhou Charity Federation every year and the total donation would exceed RMB 15 million in five years to support for disadvantaged university students, poor orphans and other groups in trouble. Guo Huifeng, Director of General Manager Office of ZNA said, ZNA “Hand in Hand” Project would plan more commonweal and commonweal activities in the coming three years and by taking ZNA’s official commonweal Micro blog as one of important platforms, would join hands with people of all circles in the society in focusing on, taking part in and practicing commonweal to make commonweal a basic daily activity in the society.
