NPC & CPPCC of 2012 has concluded. However, proposals from representatives are still under discussion. The proposal of accessible taxi by Guo Zhengfu, President of Zhengzhou Nissan Automobile Co.Ltd. has gained wide attention from the industry and has made the society to put more importance on barrier-free facilities.
In the proposal, Guo Zhengfu mainly elaborated the suggestion of developing civil vehicle types. He suggested that more emphasis be placed on developing barrier-free facilities on the part of the nation, especially on developing “civil vehicles” with accessible taxi included and that specific subsidy be provided to accessible taxi operators.
The accessible taxi refers to convenient, comfortable and safe taxi whose interior space is specially designed with humanized facilities such as electric footstep, sliding door and folded back-door slope, through which special care could be given to people who may have difficulties in traveling including the old, people carrying babies and wheelchair passengers. At present, accessible car modified by two types of CDV including NV200 and SUCCE of Zhengzhou Nissan becomes the focus of attention among vehicles types of domestic automobile manufacturers.
It is known that, since Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, nulti-functional taxies including accessible taxi have gradually appeared in many cities of China. However, the inventory and proportion are far less as compared with European and American countries. In European and American countries, multi-functional taxi including accessible taxi has become a new trend for traveling. Taxies with large space, high security, outstanding economy feature, large capacity and diversified functions are becoming increasingly popular. Market surveys in European, American and Japanese markets show that multi-functional taxi can carry more people, lessen the number of vehicles running on road, decrease the cost for traveling of urban citizens, cut down the space use cost of parking lot and ease traffic jam as compared with common taxies. Besides, multi-functional vehicle enjoys wide vision and side sliding door, which can effectively reduce the occurrence of traffic accidents.
It is increasingly frequent to see CDV multi-functional vehicle appearing in many metropolitans as the calling card of city worldwide. Among the metropolitans, New York, as a leader of lifestyle, influences the world greatly with every tiny action. It is universally known that the first taxi in the world was born in New York 100 years ago before sweeping around the world. In the past more than a century, New York also took the lead in taxi reformation. Currently, the city has listed CDV NV200 of Nissan as the only designated taxi for the future 10 years. It is the first time for a world-class first-tier metropolitan to list CDV as the only calling card for the city taxies, indicating that the vehicle type will change the habits of people in the world in terms of vehicle application for a second time.
As the basic vehicle type for multi-functional taxi or accessible taxi, CDV is extensively acknowledged due to its large space, multiple functions, economic and fuel-saving features and easy access to modification. It is known that the number of CDV accessible taxi similar to NV200 has greatly increased in Japan since 1993. In recent years, CDV has also been among the vehicle types that have the highest sales volume. As early as in 1990s, CDV has undergone rapid development in European and American countries. At present, CDV is seeing favorable growth in domestic market. In 2011, two CDV types of NV200 and SUCCE of Zhengzhou Nissan has won a total sales volume of 40 thousand, an year-on-year growth of 27.5% which is far above the overall growth rate of about 2.5% in Chinese automobile market.
