Forced by gradually saturated domesticauto market, many manufacturers cast their eyes on overseas market and are vying for more market share abroad. However after the sales boom in 2012, the overseas sales in the first half of 2013 was sluggish. According to statistics by China Association of Automobile Manufactures in the first half of this year, the car exports stood at 486.8 thousand, 0.6% lower than the same period of last year. Despite sluggish overseas market, Nissan Zhengzhou maintained a steady progress in its overseas business. By the end of October, Nissan Zhengzhou exported 8530 vehicles to the overseas market in the year of 2013, overtaking its total sales in 2012, laying a good foundation for the breakthrough of 10000 vehicles of the whole year in the overseas market.
Confronted up with downcast overseas market and fierce competition, since 2008 Nissan Zhengzhou has upheld its sustained development strategy of “focusing on the market instead of the foreign trade”, worked earnestly on overseas business expansion and secured a continuous growth in its overseas sales. Mr. Guo Zhenfu, general manager of Nissan Zhengzhou, expressed in the interview, “the expansion of overseas market is not only a policy for national auto industry development, but also a necessary path to development for Chinese auto makers.” At the very beginning of 2013, Nissan Zhengzhou Made up an annual sales target of 10000 in its overseas market. After the market test of three quarters, Nissan Zhengzhou saw its overseas sales up by 35.37% between January and October, completing 85.3% of the sales target.
Over the past five years, Nissan Zhengzhou has not only stressed diversification of products in overseas market, local research and development but also intensified its development in products, certification and channels to respond to consumers’ demands in the overseas market. In 2013, it presented the adapted Rich pickup to the overseas market and completed the release of right-rudder SUCCE at the right-rudder markets including Indonesia and Malaysia. At the same time, several vehicle types under Dongfeng brand, like Rich pickup and Succe, has obtained the quality certificate from EU and GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council). Nissan Zhengzhou has seen its overseas sales network covering Africa, Middle East and Middle Latin America and reaching emerging markets like East Europe and Southeast Asia.
